FAQs

What kind of food does KOPAR serve?

We emphasize on local and sustainable Icelandic produce whenever possible. During the roughest season we confine us to the North Atlantic area. We believe that simplicity is the key to serve a hearty and delicious meal celebrated by the locals and tourists alike.

Are there vegetarian options?

Of course there are. You will find a vegetarian dish in all of our sections, sometimes more than one. If travelling with a party likely to take the Kopar Adventure please let us know when you book so we can prepare a true vegetarian adventure for you as well.

I have an allergy — can I eat at KOPAR?

We can tailor most of our dishes to accommodate any allergy or dietary restriction. Be advised, if you inform us beforehand, we can be prepared upon your arrival with updates on which dishes are best suited for you and your condition.

Can you accommodate large parties?

The restaurant accommodates 90 people spread over two floors. A group of 40 – 60 can occupy a single floor. Please note, parties of 12 or larger must choose from a prix fix menu. You can find them under menus.

Do you accept reservations?

Yes indeed, we welcome them. If you want to ensure a table we advise you to book in advance.

Which credit cards do you accept?

We accept all international cards, such as VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS etc.

Do you offer a Tasting menu?

We do. The KOPAR Adventure is a tasting menu designed to enthral your taste buds and take you on a guided tour to ecstasy. Some parts of the adventure you will share, but some you will have to tread alone. And of course there is a fairy tale ending, but beware, this one, might be the one that you never want to end.

When does your kitchen open and close?

We are open for lunch Mondays – Fridays from 11:30 – 14:00.

Dinner starts at 17:00 every day and stays open till 22:30 Sundays – Thursdays and 23:30 on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Bar closes at 01:00 everyday, sometimes later 😉

Did you use a designer?

Leifur Welding Concept creator cooperated with the owners to design the space and ambiance.

Do you have a wine corkage fee?

Yes we do. ISL 5,000 per bottle.

Can I bring in a cake?

Depends on the occasion. Every single situation is unique so we’d like to hear the proposal before we decide.

Where can I park?

Kolaport Parking lot is only a 5-minute walk from Kopar and also the Parking garage at Harpa Concert Hall. Be advised though, the garage does not stay open throughout the night.

Can I Buy a gift certificate?

Yes, we offer gift certificates in any denominations. Give us a call or just turn up and we will find one perfectly suited to your needs.

Does Kopar have high chairs?

We do, and we welcome your adorable children.

Do you have a children’s menu?

Yes of course we do. They are our most important costumers.

Why are you called KOPAR?

KOPAR actually means copper and we found it very fitting to the rustic style we were trying to create as well as the link to the old harbour and all its old ships made from copper and steel.
